Story
At night, Little Jon's people go out to watch the stars. Mesmerized by a meteor shower, he forgets to watch his step and falls through a moss-covered door to another land: America. He awakes hurt, his memory gone, sure only that he does not belong here. Captured by a hunter, Jon escapes by leaping six feet over a barbed-wire fence. Hungry and alone, he staggers through the darkness and is about to be caught when he is rescued by a kind family known as the Beans. They shelter him, feed him, and teach him about his new home. In return, he will change their lives forever.

One of my favorite books of all time. A great story for young minds. I’ve purchased paperback versions to give my grandchildren.

A good sci-fi novel.

It’s a good story but not quite up to Mr. Taylor’s previous works. This one seems to have been written in a hurry probably to appease the demand from Audible publishers? I love the “Bobiverse” series! If you haven’t read it, do so immediately!
One thing about this book was the chapters were mostly under 10 minutes long. Irritating if you like to set sleep timers. The story was good but could have been tweaked somewhat to be more believable. One reviewer mentioned the “ Oh I just found a spaceship but it’s my bedtime.” Who would find a ufo and then just go get some shuteye?
I love Ray Porter as a narrator but sometimes his female characters sound similar across different books. Might be worth adding a female narrator occasionally.
Overall this is a great team and I highly encourage everyone to at least listen to one of their books.

Story
Meet Ove. He’s a curmudgeon—the kind of man who points at people he dislikes as if they were burglars caught outside his bedroom window. He has staunch principles, strict routines, and a short fuse. But behind the cranky exterior there is a story and a sadness. So when one November morning a chatty young couple with two chatty young daughters move in next door and accidentally flatten Ove’s mailbox, it is the lead-in to a comical and heartwarming tale of unkempt cats, unexpected friendship, and the ancient art of backing up a U-Haul.

Great story

J.K. Simmons does a terrific job with narrating this moving story. Ove is the cranky old guy that lives in everyone’s neighborhood. Listen to his story then try to look at your cranky old neighbor in the same way you always have. Or just go knock on the door and say “Hello”.
