Story
A successful LA artist, Roman Velasco appears to have everything he could possibly want - money, women, fame. Only Grace Moore, his reluctant, newly hired personal assistant, knows how little he truly has. The demons of Roman's past seem to echo through the halls of his empty mansion and out across his breathtaking Topanga Canyon view. But Grace doesn't know how her boss secretly wrestles with those demons: by tagging buildings as the Bird, a notorious but unidentified graffiti artist - an alter ego that could destroy his career and land him in prison.

I'll Never Look @ Fireflies The Same

What did you love best about Fireflies in December?
It's truthfulness. That's also what I hated about it!
What other book might you compare Fireflies in December to and why?
The Help perhaps because of the racial story line.
Have you listened to any of Kate Forbes’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No, I haven't.
If you could take any character from Fireflies in December out to dinner, who would it be and why?
I can't remember her name but the woman who took the two girls into town for lunch. Why, because she is brave.

Why we think it’s a great listen: Seabiscuit was a runaway success, and Hillenbrand’s done it again with another true-life account about beating unbelievable odds. On a May afternoon in 1943, an Army Air Forces bomber crashed into the Pacific Ocean and disappeared, leaving only a spray of debris and a slick of oil, gasoline, and blood. Then, on the ocean surface, a face appeared....

What made the experience of listening to Unbroken the most enjoyable?
Knowing it was/is a true story.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Unbroken?
The days spent in the water with nothing to eat, talking about food. Talking, talking and talking....men don't talk. Or do they?
Which character – as performed by Edward Herrmann – was your favorite?
Zamperlini!!
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No, there was too much to think about.
Any additional comments?
I've heard other books by Edward Herrmann....good choice. It really made me think of how horrible war is, how cruel humans are and how loving God is.
