Story
Matthew Riker keeps to himself, doesn't cause trouble, and never talks about his past. But after a chance encounter with a woman and a small child on the run, Riker will have to make a choice: use his hard-won skills to protect two innocent victims, or stay in the safety of his quiet life. What follows is an adrenaline-soaked thrill ride that will take Riker on a cross-country chase, through the seedy underbelly of a New York criminal empire, and into the darkest places of the human heart.

Compilation of Characters from Other Books

Could not finish this book. Little character development, I never felt engaged or even interested in the protagonist. It felt like someone with mediocre writing skills read Jack Reacher, Orphan X, John Puller, and a few other action books and thought they could write one, too. Seem to have copied from all the above characters but without the creativity that makes the others interesting. If all you want is repetitive nonstop action with little else you may like this book. I made it about 3/4 of the way through and then realized I’d never get these minutes of my life back and stopped listening.

No redeeming feature to this book

Mr. Street goes on about how he has discovered how much he enjoys killing people, how it gives him a sense of power. There are enough would-be wackos in the real world, let's not make the protagonist in a book series someone who talks about how much he enjoys killing people. Just about every person in this book was evil, conniving, and/or corrupt. Everyone's solution to those they crossed with was, "Let's kill'em". They discussed killing people as if they were suggesting running down to the corner store for chips. I found the entire book distasteful.

Story
In pitch-perfect voices, Kathryn Stockett creates three extraordinary women whose determination to start a movement of their own forever changes a town, and the way women—mothers, daughters, caregivers, friends—view one another. A deeply moving novel filled with poignancy, humor, and hope, The Help is a timeless and universal story about the lines we abide by, and the ones we don't.

From the first sentence, I was taken in. The narrators are wonderful, they bring each character to life in a most believable way. The story is compelling. I heartily recommend this book.

Story
Presumed Innocent was the fiction debut of the decade - a magnetic work of suspense that earned Turow acclaim for his unparalleled storytelling gifts. Now, in a brilliant follow-up, Scott Turow stakes his claim as an American master, in a mesmerizing novel of law, family and deceit. Alejandro "Sandy" Stern - the brilliant defense lawyer from Presumed Innocent - comes home to discover that his wife of 30 years has committed suicide, leaving behind a web of mystery, money, and guilt.

ho hum

I did not find the story in this book at all compelling. Combine that with the monotone narration and the result borders on painful. The narrator does different accents nicely but overall his reading is monotone. I would not recommend this book.

Very enjoyable, I wish this author had more books. The narration is well done and adds to the story and character of Inspector Frost.

Hidden deep beneath Manhattan lies a warren of tunnels, sewers, and galleries, mostly forgotten by those who walk the streets above. There lies the ultimate secret of the Museum Beast. When two grotesquely deformed skeletons are found deep in the mud off the Manhattan shoreline, museum curator Margo Green is called in to aid the investigation.

The story is fine but I would say read the book, don't get this audio version. The male voices are nasal and irritating, and they don't fit the characters as they have been presented in other books. When the book tells what someone is thinking this horrible sound effect is used, sort of like they are shouting from the bottom of a well.
