Story
A master storyteller at his best - the O. Henry Prize winner Stephen King delivers a generous collection of stories, several of them brand-new, featuring revelatory autobiographical comments on when, why, and how he came to write (or rewrite) each story. Magnificent, eerie, utterly compelling, these stories comprise one of King's finest gifts to his constant fan. "I made them especially for you," says King. "Feel free to examine them, but please be careful. The best of them have teeth."

Great stories. only issue I had was the person who read the obits (and our e b4)mm Was not fo d of his speech. Was like someone had peanut butter in mouth. Just made me cringe abit. So I upped the speed and made it a lil more toltolerable. Sorry just how I felt. Other than that wonderful listen and fun stories. My favorite was Cookie Jar!!

Story
The folks in Mike Erikson's small New England town would say he's just your average, everyday guy. And that's exactly how Mike likes it. Sure, the life he's chosen isn't much of a challenge to someone with his unique gifts, but he's content with his quiet and peaceful existence. That is, until an old friend presents him with an irresistible mystery, one that Mike is uniquely qualified to solve.

Story
In the middle of the night, in a house on a quiet street in suburban Minneapolis, intruders silently murder Luke Ellis' parents and load him into a black SUV. The operation takes less than two minutes. Luke will wake up at The Institute, in a room that looks just like his own, except there's no window. And outside his door are other doors, behind which are other kids with special talents - telekinesis and telepathy - who got to this place the same way Luke did: Kalisha, Nick, George, Iris, and 10-year-old Avery Dixon.

Story
Golden Globe nominee Scarlett Johansson ( Lost in Translation, Girl with a Pearl Earring) brings a palpable sense of joy and exuberance to her performance of Lewis Carroll's enduring classic Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. The young and imaginative Alice grows weary of her storybook, one "without pictures or conversations", and follows a hasty hare underground - to come face to face with a host of strange and fantastic characters.

I have always loved this story...and with many things going on 2day it came back to me how savage and cruel ppl can be to one another without rules to follow and jobs to carry out for the better of society...even the young can be so cruel with no one to teach them to be kind to one another and in doing so this world can be a much happier place. As for author narration...he is not a professional reader but I truly do not feel the story was ne less. kinda monotone, doesn't really do different voices...but it was far from ruined by of that...ive had teachers, in my past, who were much much worse.
