Story
Annie and Lee were just children when a brutal revolution changed their world, giving everyone—even the lowborn—a chance to test into the governing class of dragonriders. Now, they are both rising stars in the new regime, despite backgrounds that couldn't be more different. Annie's lowborn family was executed by dragonfire, while Lee's aristocratic family was murdered by revolutionaries. Growing up in the same orphanage forged their friendship, and seven years of training have made them rivals for the top position in the dragonriding fleet.

Story
Sam Hill always saw the world through different eyes. Born with red pupils, he was called “Devil Boy” or Sam “Hell” by his classmates; “God’s will” is what his mother called his ocular albinism. Her words were of little comfort, but Sam persevered. Sam believed it was God who sent Ernie Cantwell, the only African American kid in his class, to be the friend he so desperately needed. And that it was God’s idea for Mickie Kennedy to storm into Our Lady of Mercy like a tornado, uprooting every rule Sam had been taught about boys and girls. Forty years later, Sam, a small-town eye doctor, is no longer certain anything was by design.

I’m shocked that this book got such good reviews. I’m half way through and I can’t stop rolling my eyes. It’s almost an insult to my intelligence. Unbelievably stupid

Shallow and Predictable
Reviewed: 09-18-12
Would you try another book from E. L. James and/or Becca Battoe?
No. Im bummed I bought this book!
What was most disappointing about E. L. James’s story?
It was the same ole' thing. Think of something else to write about other than what everone else is wrtiting and actually a lot better.
Would you be willing to try another one of Becca Battoe’s performances?
This was the most annoying reader I've ever listened to. If I wanted to listen to 19 hours of "immature drawn out "valley girl" talk. I would have watched an old 80's movie
Any additional comments?
I really dont see why everyone is talking about this book. Maybe they dont read much. I guess if you've never read anything better you'd never know.
