Story
After years of bickering, Penny and Tate have called a truce: they’ll play nice. They have to. Their mothers (life-long best friends) need them to be perfect, drama-free daughters when Penny’s mother becomes a living liver donor to Tate’s mom. Forced to live together as the Moms recover, the girls’ truce is essential in keeping everything—their jobs, the house, the finances, the Moms’ healing—running smoothly. They’ve got to let this thing between them go. There’s one little hitch: Penny and Tate keep almost kissing.

Growing up in the south some of topics discussed in the book was prevalent within my life such as church changing and more young people starting to come into the church. I felt as if i was on a constant rollercoaster with the plot and character emotions.

I absolutely loved this book! The attention to detail and the characters were amazing. You felt as if you were there in time and felt every emotion of the main characters. The story touch on topic often not discussed such as colorism within the black community. Other important topics within society at the time of the book. Also listen to the authors note it was very touching and interesting how the author came up with the character.
