Story
As the ash and chaos from Mount Rainier’s eruption swirled and finally settled, the story of the Greenloop massacre has passed unnoticed, unexamined...until now. The journals of resident Kate Holland, recovered from the town’s bloody wreckage, capture a tale too harrowing - and too earth-shattering in its implications - to be forgotten. In this audiobook, Max Brooks brings Kate’s extraordinary account to light for the first time, faithfully reproducing her words alongside his own extensive investigations into the massacre and the legendary beasts behind it.

terrible narrator

I had to stop listening The journal reader was terrible. She read like a 12 year old with lots of overly dramatic or lilting characteristics that made it impossible to take her seseriously. She read it like a comedy.
I was intrigued by the story so purchased the print copy and enjoyed the rest.
She is SO bad!

This might be a decent story but the reader is absolutely terrible I couldnt get past chapter 7 because he was sooooooooo bad. Over inflected, Tone deaf. Over dramatic. Just sophmoric and amateur

Story
November 9, 2019, is the 30th anniversary of the day the Berlin Wall came crashing down, freeing East Germany from communism, and marking the beginning of the end of the Soviet Union. But when did the Cold War start? Why does it matter 30 years later? Find out in this ten-part series, transport back in time, feel what it was like to live through the end of the Cold War, and understand why that struggle was a battle for civilization itself. Bill Whittle narrates this compelling series about two competing ideologies battling for global supremacy in the ashes of World War 2.

It is rare that a podcast captured my attention like this one. Just sit back let the history rush over you. The narration and storytelling is great. I have to admit that it is told from a 2020 hindsight perspective. However there is no doubting the authenticity or accuracy. There is correlations to every page in history and lessons to be learned for each

Story
Billy Todd has always been different. Most people called him odd, and those were the nice people. Though he was born with a learning disability, Billy's parents never allowed him to consider himself disabled. Raised to be self-sufficient, Billy might not be as smart as some, but he was a lot smarter than people realized.

Shrug and Nod Odd Billy Todd
Reviewed: 06-03-21
If you took out the words shrug and nod from this book, it would be half its length. the story was engaging but the writing was repetitious.
Billy nodded. Billy shrugged. Billy would skip the next chapter if he could.
