Story
As hundreds of rescue workers waited on the ground, United Airlines Flight 232 wallowed drunkenly over the bluffs northwest of Sioux City. The plane slammed onto the runway and burst into a vast fireball. The rescuers didn't move at first: nobody could possibly survive that crash. And then people began emerging from the summer corn that lined the runways. Miraculously, 184 of 296 passengers lived. No one has ever attempted the complete reconstruction of a crash of this magnitude.

Great Recounting of A Tragic Flight

I really enjoyed the human elements the author wrote of and his ability to teach a little of metallurgy without going too deep. The reader has a great voice and it must have been hard to not show emotion as he narrated. I truly enjoyed everything about this book.

Great Narrative

Steve Jackson is a great True crime writer. Doesn’t go over the top in making the crimes he writes about gratuitous.

In this story of perseverance in the face of adversity, Regina Calcaterra recounts her childhood in foster care and on the streets and how she and her savvy crew of homeless siblings managed to survive years of homelessness, abandonment, and abuse. Regina Calcaterra's emotionally powerful memoir reveals how she endured a series of foster homes and intermittent homelessness in the shadow of the Hamptons, and how she rose above her past while fighting to keep her brother and three sisters together.

It amazes me that a child can be so strong and so smart. This is an incredible story of a child that was destined for a horrible life but she decided for a different outcome. One of the best books I have had the pleasure to know.

An extraordinary insight into life under one of the world's most ruthless and secretive dictatorships - and the story of one woman's terrifying struggle to avoid capture/repatriation and guide her family to freedom.
