A killer is murdering Goths with relish - skinning and butchering them. The cops aren’t getting anywhere so Jack Nightingale’s nemesis, Superintendent Chalmers, asks him for help. Nightingale discovers that the murdered Goths had one thing in common: a tattoo connected to the secretive, Satanic, child-sacrificing cult called the Order Of Nine Angles. As Nightingale closes in on the killers, the tables are turned and he finds himself in the firing line, along with his friends and family. The Order will stop at nothing to protect their secrets and Nightingale realises that there is nothing he can do to protect himself.

Reviewed: 03-09-17
What did you love best about The Four Legendary Kingdoms?
I love Jack west and the relationship he has with the other characters and history
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
Sorry Matthew but I think its too much of a mix of contest and scarecrowI loved both of those books but it feels a bit forced putting jack in that type of role
Have you listened to any of Sean Mangan’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Yes, I love his voice
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I had extreme disappointment when I realised the book was "not quite jack"Loved the underlining historical story and how Jack knows and figures it outI've listened and re read the book again with mixed emotions about the cross over between characters.
Any additional comments?
I love Matthew's books but after such a long wait for this one it felt a little rushed. But I still love the series.

Story
Ridley Pearson brings us the origins of the rivalry between literature's most famous enemies - Sherlock Holmes and James Moriarty - told from the perspective of James' observant little sister, Moria. Before James grew up to be a ruthless, remorseless villain, he was a curious boy from Boston, with a penchant for trouble and an acid tongue. Thrown into a boarding school against his wishes, James winds up rooming with a most unlikely companion: a lanky British know-it-all named Sherlock Holmes.
