Such a great book!

This for me is one I'f those books that your sorry it's over and you know no matter how you try you'll not give another that you enjoy as much for a while. If you like books along the lines of "The Grapes of Wrath" this is a book for you! Absolutely wonderful story of a farming family of the 50's and their struggles of trying to get their crop of cotton in to the gin. They had to hire out of state people to help get their crop in before the rains came and all the troubles dealing with people working together and living together. A seven year old boy growing up on the farm and working right beside his family in the cotton field and all the other work it took to survive.
It is about good Christian faith and love of a family. It's a great book, sorry for it too end.

Story
An 11-year-old boy's violated corpse is found in a town park. Eyewitnesses and fingerprints point unmistakably to one of Flint City's most popular citizens. He is Terry Maitland, Little League coach, English teacher, husband, and father of two girls. Detective Ralph Anderson, whose son Maitland once coached, orders a quick and very public arrest. Maitland has an alibi, but Anderson and the district attorney soon add DNA evidence to go with the fingerprints and witnesses. Their case seems ironclad.

First reason I gave only 3 stars
I can't stand a author that makes polital digs within the story insulting the people that don't believe as he does.
Also, I hated the voice of Holly done by Will Patton, shockingly annoying and was such an annoyance that it effected my opinion of the book.

Story
Shocking and controversial when it was first published in 1939, Steinbeck's Pulitzer prize-winning epic The Grapes of Wrath remains his undisputed masterpiece. Set against the background of Dust Bowl Oklahoma and Californian migrant life, it tells of Tom Joad and his family, who, like thousands of others, are forced to travel west in search of the promised land. Their story is one of false hopes, thwarted desires, and broken dreams, yet out of their suffering Steinbeck created a drama that is intensely human, yet majestic in its scale and moral vision.

Three college girls, that are supposed to be loyal to each other, and their so called problems and romances with each other's boyfriends and their betrayals to each other. Very juvenile plot. Not my kind of book.

This has been a great series, after the first book I was really disappointed about the narrator being different in each one. The first narrator was so wonderful and made the second book a little disappointing but after I got over it I realized that the velva Jean that was a spy was grown up and needed to be different. Velva Jean, and all the characters in these books are wonderful. you won't be sorry if you enjoy family, excitement and history. Great series, I hate it when each one ends it's so hard to find a book or series that is this good cad can't was wait to start the next adventure of Velva Jean, maybe she'll finally be a singer and find her true love

Narrators were excellent except for the older voice of Hallie was a little annoying to me but that was probably just me.
