Maine Boston and Nova Scotia. If you love those places you’ll find yourself there again accompanied be all those who loved you in those places. Beautifully written. Love of family and traditions they hold can’t be erased by time or distance.

Not much to dislike. I enjoyed the way the romance of the main characters developed. Very satisfying and realistic. The descriptions of Boston in the 90s where spot on.

Story
If it’s navel-gazing you’re after, you’ve come to the wrong place; ditto treacly self-examination. Rather, his observations turn outward: a fight between two men on a bus, a fight between two men on the street, pedestrians being whacked over the head or gathering to watch as a man considers leaping to his death. There’s a dirty joke shared at a book signing, then a dirtier one told at a dinner party - lots of jokes here. Plenty of laughs.

I love Everything he writes. When depression hits me David Sedaris does the trick. I spend two days a month at the hospital getting Gamma Globulin infusions for Lupus. Sedaris gets me through all that laughing so hard the nurses ask me to quiet down.

I love you Leslie. You got me thru the pandemic. ☯️💜☮️💟

Far outside his comfort zone, Paul has a mission: to see if he can be adventurous, fearless, free. In short, to become someone new. Soon after arriving in Italy, he notices a small, scruffy, self-assured dog trotting alongside a canal with the confidence he so desperately wants for himself. This street dog and his instincts for survival lend Paul’s trip a singular purpose.

Story
In 2017, a routine network television investigation led to a story only whispered about: one of Hollywood’s most powerful producers was a predator, protected by fear, wealth, and a conspiracy of silence. As Farrow drew closer to the truth, shadowy operatives, from high-priced lawyers to elite war-hardened spies, mounted a secret campaign of intimidation, threatening his career, following his every move, and weaponizing an account of abuse in his own family.

After living as a female in this world for 66 years I’m hearing a voice in the wilderness. Like the ringing of a bell! I found myself humbled by his bravery on our behalf. All women have stories they’ve never given voice to due to the hopelessness of our situations. Then here comes this young man who’s taking on the powerful predators in ways only a man can!
He deserved the Pulitzer! Bless you Ronan for this well researched and beautifully written book. You give me hope.

Story
A few years ago, small-time finance journalist Matthew Prior quit his day job to gamble everything on a quixotic notion: a Web site devoted to financial journalism in the form of blank verse. When his big idea - and his wife's eBay resale business - ends with a whimper (and a garage full of unwanted figurines), they borrow and borrow, whistling past the graveyard of their uncertain dreams.
