I really like the book. It would have been better with the original narrator from the first series. Still good for passing the time.

Story
Sixteen-year-old Augum Stone is a warlock prodigy suffocating under the weight of expectations. Students idolize him. Nobles plot to exploit him. Commoners think he's a miracle-maker. And with invasion looming, his already war-weakened kingdom expects him to be its champion. But Augum doesn't want to be a pawn in someone else's game. He'll forge his own path: that of the Arcaner - not a warlock or a knight, but a lethal combination of both.

While story is still great, change in narrator is a shame

Instantly sub par compared to The Arinthian Line

All of a sudden all of the characters have completely changed in personality. The new narrator does this series more harm than good. Half the time its hard to tell if he is narrating one of the many female roles or the male roles. Terrible idea to change narrators, especially going as far as to change the nationality of the narrator making all of the characters sound like they decided to have an accent from Dublin after already publishing 5 books, all of which had no discernable accent.

Story
The daughter of a Legion war hero, fighting was in Andien Broxin's blood. But the battles Republic marines face on strange and alien worlds are a far cry from the vaunted, brutal, no-holds-barred conflicts fought at the edge of the galaxy by the elite legionnaires. Until a devastating war erupts right in the Republic’s stellar backyard. Newly stationed on a mid-core planet being harassed by terrorist revolutionaries, Andien and her fellow “hullbusters” find themselves right in the middle of a desperate fight for survival.

Narration is not even half the quality of Book 1

This person narrating has no talent at story telling. I find myself wanting to skip ahead. She can't old your attention.

I love this book. So easy to fall into the story and get to know the characters. So many different emotions are experienced while reading this book. And im happy to say it was very much the same pleasure reading this book as it was listening to it!
