Story
For Detective Sam Porter, the words "Father, forgive me" conjure memories long forgotten; a past intentionally buried. For Anson Bishop, these three words connect a childhood to the present as he unleashes a truth concealed for decades. Found written on cardboard near each body, these words link multiple victims to a single killer - discovered within minutes of each other in both Chicago and South Carolina - clearly connected yet separated by impossible miles.

Twists and turns throughout!

Overall I liked the storyline. Masterfully written to keep you guessing and unsure of what you think you’ve figured out as you listen.i found myself feeling sad for bishop and his peers because it’s a frightening reminder of the kinds of people that walk this earth. The most sadness is felt for Porter, he’s lost the love of his life because of an assumption. You’ll definitely enjoy this book!!

Story
In this reappraisal of racial politics in modern America, Kevin Kruse explains the causes and consequences of "white flight" in Atlanta and elsewhere. Seeking to understand segregationists on their own terms, White Flight moves past simple stereotypes to explore the meaning of white resistance. In the end, Kruse finds that segregationist resistance, which failed to stop the civil rights movement, nevertheless managed to preserve the world of segregation and even perfect it in subtler and stronger forms.

Confirmation of observations

An excellent history line of past to present day Atlanta and it’s suburbs, which I often was curious about. Through false ideas of grandiose, superiority and entitlement some white people have and continue to do more harm than good in America. This isn’t an attack on white people, but it’s time to stop throwing the proverbial brick and hiding your hands. The GOP embodies this and therefore has increased its rhetoric and alliances with racist people and organizations. Denial and delusion…. Their strongest weapons.
