Story
Leaving one widow behind is unfortunate. Leaving three widows behind is just plain despicable. Oil heiress Kate Steele knew her not-so-dearly departed husband was a con man, but she's shocked that Conrad racked up two more wives without divorcing her first. The only remnant of their miserable marriage she plans to keep is their lakeside cabin in Bootleg, Texas. Unfortunately, she's not the only woman with that idea.

I think I am going to like this new series! Characters were fun and interesting and I found the crossovers from Scumble River to be a nice surprise. I look forward to seeing what happens next.

Audio Problems
Reviewed: 04-25-18
The story, characters & narrator are all great! Unfortunately, the audio itself has issues that take away from the enjoyment. Words are cut off at the end of some sentences leaving me to wonder if I am missing something important. Very distracting! This needs to be fixed.

Story
A twister, a kidnapping, and a murder - oh my! Scumble River may never be the same. For school psychologist Skye Denison, there's certainly no place like home. When a violent tornado devastates her small hometown of Scumble River, she can't see how the community will ever recover - especially since town councilman Zeke Lyons appears to have perished in the twister. But things get even worse for Skye when her police chief husband, Wally, disappears in the midst of investigating Zeke's death, and evidence arises pointing to foul play.

Love the story! Love the characters! The narrator is awful! Too monotone for the action taking place and the personalities of the characters in the story. She reads with no pep, sass or depth to her vocals. This is the wrong genre for her reading style and abilities.
