Story
Deep in the mountains of West Virginia, Conor and his team are sheltering at the Banks Compound, desperate for some way to regain the momentum that billionaire Walter Lightspeed brought to the country. They’d been so close to recovery and now salvation slipped further away with each passing moment. Desperate for a ray of hope amidst their grim reality, the team launches a mission to find someone who might be able to bring new energy to the national recovery effort. Someone America knows and respects. Someone who clawed their way up from poverty to build an empire. Someone plainspoken and unquestionably patriotic.

GREAT binge series!!
Reviewed: 10-08-24
I am writing this review after listening to all 11 books. I started it mainly because the first three books were bundled together for one credit so great value for me! I was thinking this could be a good fill in series between other listens. But, I was quickly wrapped up in the story, plots, and characters. Narration was great as Kevin Pierce is on my list of all time greats. Franklin Horton has now been added to my all time list too! After 11 books, I was pleased to see the author be able to keep the story fresh, and on track. If you like realistic post-apocalyptic books, check this series out.

Story
April 2011: On a remote mountaintop overlooking the remains of the Iranian nuclear weapons program, Azad Ashani witnesses a Quds Force demonstration of a capability meant to upend America’s war in the Middle East. Ashani, director of the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence and Security and Irene Kennedy’s former back channel to the Iranian government, recognizes the demonstration’s true significance, and the nation-ending conflict it will provoke. Alone, Ashani stands no chance of preventing this rush to madness.

Its just not Mitch Rapp
Reviewed: 09-23-24
First off, I think Don Bentley is a good writer and I have listened to several of the Matt Drake series. If I had bought this book and read it with George Guidalls voice in my head, I would have liked it more. If George would have narrated this book it would have been passable as Mitch Rapp. But with a new writer, and a new narrator it was just too different and didn't feel like the old Rapp. I know this narrator did CODE RED also, and I felt this departure then.
If we could go back to George, go back to a chronological order, (as I was not a fan of the flash back timeline), I think Bentley can pull it off. Otherwise, I think we may be left with Mitch Light.

A toxic presidential election is underway in an America already badly weakened by internal divisions. While politicians focus entirely on maintaining their own power, ISIS kidnaps a brilliant French microbiologist and forces him to begin manufacturing anthrax. Slickly produced videos chronicling his progress and threatening an imminent attack are posted to the internet, intensifying the hysteria gripping the United States.

I am a fan of Mark Greaney and have listened to all the Grey Man Series so I put this in line as soon as it came out. Man, what a great book all the way around! The authors did such a great job of putting you right in the action on multiple fronts, endearing the warriors to you, and mentally carrying you up and down with their victories and losses. The narrator was great and flawless, and I cant say a negative thing about the delivery. This is my number one book of the year. You will not be disappointed.

I stayed away from this book for a couple weeks because I've been burned in the past by characters colliding from multiple books into one universe. my fear was this was going to be an alternate reality, what was actually set 15 years in the future. this book was masterfully done with all worlds coming together in the same reality. It was my loss for waiting 2 weeks to listen to it. If you're a fan this is a book for you.
