Beth Mead is one of the world's most talented female footballers - Golden Boot winner and Player of the Tournament at the UEFA Euros 2022, Arsenal Player of the Season 2021-22, and nominee for the 2022 Ballon d'Or. But long before this, Beth was just an ordinary kid from Hinderwell, North Yorkshire who wanted to play football.

Great story-better than other soccer bios
Reviewed: 01-29-23
I am a 🇺🇸 uswnt fan but found much respect for 🏴 during the euros.
Most female soccer books are written by a ghost writer and rely heavily for content on generic game play by .plays. This one felt much more like Beth contributed the content. It was my fave soccer bio to date.
If you like this one read christine sinclair’s and amy wambach’s.
I do wish Beth read as least part of the book herself but other than that it was a pure masterpiece. The prose really brought scenes and emotions to life.
I wish Beth well I will be cheering for Lionesses in the WC unless of course they are playing 🇺🇸

Few journalists working today have covered Donald Trump more extensively than Maggie Haberman. And few understand him and his motivations better. Now, demonstrating her majestic command of this story, Haberman reveals in full the depth of her understanding of the 45th president himself, and of what the Trump phenomenon means.

Story
The first story Selma Blair Beitner ever heard about herself is that she was a mean, mean baby. With her mouth pulled in a perpetual snarl and a head so furry it had to be rubbed to make way for her forehead, Selma spent years living up to her terrible reputation: biting her sisters, lying spontaneously, getting drunk from Passover wine at the age of seven, and behaving dramatically so that she would be the center of attention. In a memoir that is as wildly funny as it is emotionally shattering, Blair tells the captivating story of growing up and finding her truth.

This book is so clever, I was a fan before I started and a super fan when I ended.
Selma’s sense of fashion makes sense
Now. Sad it came from her mother’s disapproval.
If I ever wrote a book- I would beg Selma to perform it. She was exellent..
I wish I could have helped young Selma.💔

Story
In 2010, the words “earthquake swarm” entered the lexicon in Oklahoma. That same year, a trove of Michael Jackson memorabilia—including his iconic crystal-encrusted white glove—was sold at auction for over $1 million to a guy who was, officially, just the lowly forestry minister of the tiny nation of Equatorial Guinea. And in 2014, Ukrainian revolutionaries raided the palace of their ousted president and found a zoo of peacocks, gilded toilets, and a floating restaurant modeled after a Spanish galleon.

Great story, great American- Narrator distracting
Reviewed: 04-03-22
I am the target audience for thIs book- I literally have Commander Collins signed photo on my office wall. However, I almost could not make it through the first 2 minutes of the book due to the narrator. I found Her voice to be monotone and almost robotic. Her inflection did not fit the story- it was like she was sight reading. She also mispronounced several words causing my to cringe and take me out of the great story.
Missle became Miss-sile, Nasa became Nassau
I’m Glad I stuck it out because the story was so excellent but it would have been much better with a different narrator.
Thank you for your service and this great book Commander Collins!
