A good listen

At the outset, I also thought that I would not like this book due to the narrator. But I was surprised (pleasantly) and really enjoyed listening to the book. You can get past the narrator after a while, and the book is almost up to Cornwall's standards of historical detail.
Stick with it, and I think you will also enjoy the book. A bit predictable at times, but still listenable.

Not just for kids

I found this adventure to be very entertaining. The sound effects are great, and the actors do a very good job overall of maintaining the mystery.
It isn't rocket science, and you will have a good idea of what is happening most of the time, but entertaining none the less.
The only drawback I could see is that some of the supporting actors sounded as though they were reading their lines, rather than acting.
That didn't happen with the main actors, however.

I found this book to be very entertaining, as I listen going to and from work. The reader has a wide variety of different voices, making it sound like a full cast of characters. Enjoyed the book very much; I highly recomment it ..
