Story
In 1976, Di Rushing and her husband, Sam decided to open the first winery in Mississippi. Their business was thriving by 1990, with eight national award-winning wines, a beautiful vineyard, and a successful restaurant. But in March of 1990, a series of unforeseen events rocked the operation. After the Rushings discovered one of the tour guides, Ray Russell, selling drugs in the winery parking lot, they fired him. He responded with a terrorizing vengeance that persisted over the next nine months.

The Rushings story is so very sad and one of resilience. Heartbreaking that they had to pick up and leave their Mississippi home and start over in Colorado by a big ugly bully.

Story
Lolly Blanchard's life only seems to give her lemons. Ten years ago, after her mother’s tragic death, she broke up with her first love and abandoned her dream of opening a restaurant in order to keep her family’s struggling Seattle diner afloat and care for her younger sister and grieving father. Now, a decade later, she dutifully whips up the diner’s famous lemon meringue pies each morning while still pining for all she's lost. As Lolly’s thirty-third birthday approaches, her quirky great-aunt gives her a mysterious gift.

Story
In 2009, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band performed at the Super Bowl's halftime show. The experience was so exhilarating that Bruce decided to write about it. That's how this extraordinary autobiography began. Over the past seven years, Bruce Springsteen has privately devoted himself to writing the story of his life, bringing to this audio the same honesty, humor, and originality found in his songs.

For the love of music...

Respect and love ... for the music and the people in his life drives this story written from his heart. His path was not always easy. He was moved by major events happening all around him as well as family issues and wrote lyrics and music that moved us and made us feel better about our lives.
Hats off to one of the great rock stars of my generation who worked hard, found fame and fortune and didn't lose everything else in his life because of it.
I truly enjoyed listening to Bruce, in his own raspy voice, tell his story. It is an enjoyable read.

I enjoyed the book more than I thought I would. I got caught up in the characters and it was tough realizing the way veterans come back from war and how they and their families are affected. Some adjust to the changes well and some don't.
