Way too political!

What would have made The Best Defense better?
.
What was most disappointing about Kate Wilhelm’s story?
I normally love Kate Wilhelm books, but this one seemed to be determined to demonize and ridicule people with conservative values by making the villains extreme, radical "conservatives". The story got lost in the political agenda. It was also hard to follow the complicated description of the characters and setting

Football season becomes a time of realization that life's most important victories are won off the field. Great story!

I have to confess that I love football, so this book pushed my buttons. It was a great combination with love story, family, football, drama and faith. I loved it and was sorry when it was over, although I was happy to see it all resolved.

A Roman soldier, Marcellus, wins Christ's robe as a gambling prize. He then sets forth on a quest to find the truth about the Nazarene's robe, a quest that reaches to the very roots and heart of Christianity. Set against the vividly drawn background of ancient Rome, this is a timeless story of adventure, faith, and romance, a tale of spiritual longing and ultimate redemption.

A Beautiful Classic

I downloaded this book because it was on sale and I remembered that I had heard the title as a girl. It was a little hard to get started, especially with many strange names to remember, but it soon grabbed my attention and then my heart. It truly is a classic. I have been recommending it to everyone since I listened to it! It will be one of those books I remember for the rest of my life. I loved the British narrator. It was worth every minute, and I was sad when it ended.
