Story
My name is Peyton, and I have a charmed life. I live in a beautiful mansion on top of a hill and want for nothing. My father’s successful, and my mother’s devoted to seeing me and my siblings succeed… Oh, wait…that’s not my life at all. That’s my half-sister’s life. Book is great, Audible isn’t a person but instead a weird monitone AI or text to speech app. Not worth it.

Story
Nineteen-year-old Signa Farrow, orphaned as a baby, has been raised by a string of guardians, each more interested in her wealth than her well-being—and each has met an untimely end. Her last remaining relatives are the Hawthornes, an eccentric family living at the glittering and gloomy estate of Thorn Grove. Thorn Grove’s patriarch, Elijah, mourns his late wife, Lillian, through wild parties and drink, while eldest son Percy grapples for control of the family’s waning reputation and daughter Blythe suffers from the same mysterious illness that killed her mother.

More mystery than romance

More mystery than romance though the romance was a major side plot. Very flowery prose and the audiobook was slow-paced but the writing is good and the subtext on life lessons is worthwhile.
