Smacking Reader and unlikable heroine
Reviewed: 07-04-24
Smacking. So. Much. Smacking. Smacking and swallowing and smacking and swallowing. It was a moist read, and I don’t go for moist reads. However, she did a good acting job.
The main character is pretty unlikable and goes for her brother-in-law. Thankfully that doesn’t last long. I guess you can blame all her unlikable mess on her pregnancy hormones, but it’s still not fun to read.

Story
Millions of families are affected by eating disorders, which usually strike young women between the ages of fourteen and twenty. But current medical practice ties these families' hands when it comes to helping their children recover. Conventional medical wisdom dictates separating the patient from the family and insists that 'it's not about the food', even as a family watches a child waste away before their eyes.

The other review is misleading

I’m not sure why there is a part one and part two, I just bought the whole book option, but I had to leave a review because of the only other review on this book.
There needs to be some context into why the mom said she wanted to punch the lady in the mouth. It was A woman in a grocery store that says she always knew kitty was anorexic and implied that she was a bad mom for not noticing sooner. “Where my rage quickly evaporates, leaving an acid bath of shame. of course people know exactly what’s going on and of course they blame us Hell I blame us we are Kitty‘s parents we’re supposed to be in charge we are supposed to protect her” is the next line.
I don’t know why that review was so bias, but it’s a pretty good and honest book.
