Story
Five days after Owen Zastava Pitt pushed his insufferable boss out of a 14th story window, he woke up in the hospital with a scarred face, an unbelievable memory, and a job offer. It turns out that monsters are real. All the things from myth, legend, and B-movies are out there, waiting in the shadows. Some of them are evil, and some are just hungry. Monster Hunter International is the premier eradication company in the business. And now Owen is their newest recruit.

Segal meets Twilight, but worse
Reviewed: 08-25-22
The worst parts of a young adult novel mixed with the worst parts of a Steven Segal flick. The main character is a nerdy accountant....but also a 6'4 massive bodybuilding former bouncer who's one of the best marksmen in the world. he immediately falls for the bosses daughter who is in a relationship with a brave loyal monster hunting underwear model and she spends half the book telling the main character to back off...but he's just so awesome, you see. they start making out while she's worried about the underwear model being sacrificed. Because nothing says "I love my partner" like blowing the guy he hates and you don't even appear to really like all that much.
yeah, this book is bad. He does spend a lot of time stroking himself to miscellaneous gun facts rather than telling a story, or getting a multipage lecture on how yea her family made it's fortune via slaves, but really it's the race card playing politicians that are the real racists (and no, that's not hyperbole. that's damn near a quote), well, you'll like this.

Trapped and alone, Aziel is the greatest secret the Caelian Empire ever kept. For centuries he has been imprisoned as empires turned to dust and the world of Kadora changed around him - only to be released at last by Celia, a beautiful succubus. As Aziel faces a race against time and struggles to master his immense powers, he must gather together his own group of loyal followers. It will take all the wit and counsel he can muster to navigate an unfamiliar world balanced on a knife’s edge as a rival kingdom moves to claim the Central Wilds, the land he now inhabits....

Slow burn, but decent

Not nearly as much smut as I was afraid of. Overall, interesting, if slow. Its definitely a harem book, but theres a lot of fade to black/boot scenes. The "video game world" premise is done in an interesting way, and overall I like it
