Story
Freshly graduated from a rigorous training program in all things spy craft, former typist Evelyne Redfern is eager for her first assignment as a field agent helping Britain win the war. However, when she learns her first task is performing a simple security test at Blackthorn Park, a requisitioned manor house in the sleepy Sussex countryside, she can’t help her initial disappointment. Making matters worse, her handler is to be David Poole, a fellow agent who manages to be both strait-laced and dashing in annoyingly equal measure.

Good story, interesting plot and characters BUT I was surprised that the same narrator was so disappointing on this title. Too breathy, too annoying and no differentiation between male/female/youth characters. Unfortunate.

Far from my usual genre, but so glad I took the plunge. I follow Abe on social media and have always been impressed with his posts. This book, top shelf. Honest, sincere, funny and well worth the listen. I highly recommend this author/narrator. Thank you Abe!

Lord Rosemorran has purchased a wax figure of a beautiful reclining woman and asks Stoker to incorporate a clockwork mechanism to give the Rosemorran Collection its own Sleeping Beauty in the style of Madame Tussaud’s. The mannequin is the beautifully preserved body of a young woman who was once very much alive. But who would do such a dreadful thing, and why?

Another outstanding listen. Wonderful story, wonderful narrator and quite the puzzle! Hope Christopher matures quicker and hope the next entry pursues his Grandfathers suggestion. Now the wait; and so enjoy the authors details at the end, regardless of length.

It's 1811, and the threat of revolution haunts the upper classes of King George III's England. Story
Old Town, Edinburgh. In a squalid tenement where poverty, rats, and disease are rampant, a young woman who worked in a local tavern lies dying. Just another number and bound for a pauper's grave in Greyfriars Kirkyard. Alone, his grandmother the only family left, young Angus Brodie hides in the shadows nearby, the bronze medallion his dying mother pressed into his hand clenched in a tight fist as the constables carry her body from the tenement. And a name overheard—the man who was there that night, seen by the woman who collected the rents.
