Story
Christians get in trouble when they do not know how to exercise their authority in Christ. Remember, sin has been dealt with on the Cross, but Satan has not yet been thrown into the lake of fire. He is still active in the Earth today, resisting the work of God and those belonging to him. Satan will try to attack our bodies with sickness and our minds with oppression. His goal is to keep us from doing what God has called us to do.

Story
Following Jane from her childhood as an orphan in Northern England through her experience as a governess at Thornfield Hall, Charlotte Brontë's Gothic classic is an early exploration of women's independence in the mid-19th century and the pervasive societal challenges women had to endure. At Thornfield, Jane meets the complex and mysterious Mr. Rochester, with whom she shares a complicated relationship that ultimately forces her to reconcile the conflicting passions of romantic love and religious piety.

I have most versions of Jane Eyre as it's always going to be a story to revisit. So far I think this is the best version. Thandie Newton nails it.

From the blood-soaked sand of the Roman arena, a divine destiny will rise. For as long as Jonathan Tarquinius can remember, everyone has wanted something from him. His half-brother wants him dead. Really good story with excellent narrator. Harsh reality of a slaves fate but hope breaks through. The first in a series. But where are the rest? I would buy those if available as I'm sure it would be worth it.

Her parents want a betrothal, but Mairead MacKenzie can't get married without revealing her secret, and no man will wed her once he knows. Plain in comparison to her siblings and extremely reserved, Mairead has been called "MacKenzie's Mouse" since she was a child. No one knows the reason for her timidity and she would just as soon keep it that way. When her parents arrange a betrothal to Laird Tadhg Matheson, she is horrified.

My first Highland romance. I've returned so many lately as I became bored with the characters, so many are inconsistent. I think I've been spoilt by Georgette Heyer over the years. I stuck with this one, and in conclusion found it a reasonably good story line with likeable hero & heroin

Where does King of the Mountain rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Well, I can't answer this for myself as my husband & I are listening to this together when we go to bed at night. It's more for male tastes but I am still enjoying the series and we are going to continue. Well written, well narrated, great characters.

Story
When Elizabeth Bennet first knew Mr. Darcy, she despised him and was sure he felt the same. Angered by his pride and reserve, influenced by the lies of the charming Mr. Wickham, she never troubled herself to believe he was anything other than the worst of men - until, one day, he unexpectedly proposed. Mr. Darcy's passionate avowal of love causes Elizabeth to reevaluate everything she thought she knew about him.

Story
He had nothing to recommend him but his smile, and she was surely too old, and had too much commonsense, to be beguiled by a smile... Miss Abigail Wendover's efforts to detach her spirited niece Fanny from a plausible fortune-hunter are complicated by the arrival in Bath of Miles Caverleigh. The black sheep of his family, a cynical, outrageous care-for-naught with a scandalous past - that would be a connection more shocking even than Fanny's unwise liaison with his nephew!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would & have. One of Heyer's best I think. I love this story, the characters, the dialogue, the wit, the humour. It's delightfulI & can be listened to again & again.
Who was your favorite character and why?
I really love the two main characters, Miles & Abby. They're well matched. Down to earth, great sense of humour. A really satisfying love story.
What does Barbara Leigh-Hunt bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I like her voices, timing & pauses are perfect. Intimate conversations between the main characters are memorable. I think she does a great job of reading this story.

Very disappointing
Reviewed: 06-19-13
What disappointed you about The Raven Prince?
I found it more coarse than romantic. Superficial, smutty dialogue. Unpolished, shallow characterisations.
What do you think your next listen will be?
Certainly not Elizabeth Hoyt. Probably try another Georgette Heyer, though you need more of hers. I've almost exhausted your supply & can't understand why any of her books are abridged. It spoils them.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
She was adequate for this type of novel. Not much in the way of subtlety to challenge her.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
All of those but mainly disappointment.
Any additional comments?
No

It's April, 1988, a month before Kinsey Millhone's 38th birthday, and she's alone in her office doing paperwork when a young man arrives unannounced. He has a preppy air about him and looks as if he'd be carded if he tried to buy booze, but Michael Sutton is 27, an unemployed college dropout. Twenty-one years earlier, a four-year-old girl disappeared, and a recent reference to her kidnapping has triggered a flood of memories.

Story
Paradise Lost, along with its companion piece, Paradise Regained, remain the most successful attempts at Greco-Roman style epic poetry in the English language. Remarkably enough, they were written near the end of John Milton's amazing life, a bold testimonial to his mental powers in old age. And, since he had gone completely blind in 1652, 15 years prior to Paradise Lost, he dictated it and all his other works to his daughter.
