I throughly enjoyed this book and all the characters. Looking forward to the next book in the series! I miss the characters already and want to find out more! Made me think a great deal about decisions we make each day, even small ones, and whether what we do aligns with His will.

Story
For years, rumors of the "Marsh Girl" have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand.

I must admit that for the first 1/3 of this book I kept asking myself what the big deal was. Why was this such a best seller. As a southerner I was not so sure of the accents as they were portrayed by the reader but thankfully I stuck with it! This was a wonderful book written and read in a way that I could SEE and HEAR every word in the book. Amazingly written details of nature in a really good story. I FELT the story and cried when the last chapter was read. Don’t miss this wonderful book.
