Story
Rock and roll in the BC (Before Cooper) era was a tamer, milder world. In Who I Really Am, Cooper’s latest addition to Audible’s Words + Music series, we learn how the boa-wearing (not the feathered kind) maestro arrived at a show and sound - let’s call it AC for After Cooper - that has entertained millions of kids while terrifying parents in equal measure. Cooper drew inspiration from Saturday matinee horror movies, applied a "no such thing as too much" attitude, and hitched it to a kick-ass rock and roll band.

A rambling cash grab
Reviewed: 07-17-22
The audio book felt less like a well thought out memoir/ autobiography and more like a rambling old uncle who found a tape recorder and just let loose. I enjoyed Will (Will smith's autobiography) as well as Matthew McConaughey's Greenlights, so it's not self narrated audio autobiographies I dislike, just this one.
I'm sure Alice Cooper has an incredible story to tell, but this is not it. I can't beleive an editor let this trash get published. This is an utter disappointment. Don't waste your time or money on this one.

Story
In a world that thrives on competition and individual achievement, we’re measuring and pursuing potential incorrectly. Pursuing success in isolation—pushing others away as we push ourselves too hard—not only limits our potential but makes us more stressed and disconnected than ever.

Great attitude adjustment

I first encountered Shawn giving his first TED talk. His book is just as engaging, relatable, and insightful as that first talk.
This book changed the way I view success, celebration and habit building. A great book to listen to, but to get the most out of it, I recommend stopping periodically and taking notes.
Thanks Shawn
