One of my all time fav P&P variations

This story was so wonderfully written and performed. There were aspects that reminded me of me before you but much less angst. Would definitely recommend to any P&P fans.

Story
Brilliant, sensitive, and private, Fitzwilliam Darcy finds himself at the Meryton Assembly, consciously troubled by recent events in Ramsgate and unconsciously troubled by himself. He insults Elizabeth Bennet, at whom he has only glanced. It is not until she appears at Netherfield—full of life, skirted in mud, and eager to attend to her sick sister—that Darcy truly looks at her. When he does, he knows she is the woman he has been searching for, the elusive her of his heart.

Very philosophical but enjoyable
Reviewed: 01-23-25
The performance and story were both enjoyable to my tastes but some might find the story overly philosophical. I had read the reviews on Goodreads prior to starting the audiobook so it didn’t take me by surprise but it was still a bit overbearing at times. I did enjoy the amount of time ODC spent together in this rendition and enjoyed even more insight into Darcy’s mind. Would recommend to fans of P&P.

Everything I’ve ever wanted
Reviewed: 01-21-25
This audiobook and its physical counterpart were everything I’ve wanted in a P&P variation. Extremely enjoyable listen. Lots of time with ODC, not too much angst but still some conflict, small satisfying epilogue etc.

Story
Fitzwilliam Darcy's uncle has insisted he finally remain in town for the full season. Ill at ease in London society, he makes a cutting remark about Elizabeth Bennet, a woman he's barely met. But she is not unprotected, and when an earl demands he make amends, he reluctantly complies. Darcy is prepared to deal with yet another fortune hunter, but Elizabeth's kindness towards society's wallflowers and her quiet bravery in the face of adversity slowly wear away his prejudices. As his admiration grows, so does his dilemma.

Story
Mr. Darcy has finally accepted that he wishes only for Elizabeth, and when they meet at Pemberley, he speaks plainly of his devotion. Despite their uncertain future, he is determined to assist the Bennet family – surely no young lady, however foolish, deserves to be Mrs. Wickham. And Darcy has a plan. Jane falls prey to bewilderment and anger as Bingley returns to Hertfordshire. He hopes to renew their courtship, but Jane’s world was shaken by his departure and the cruelty of his sisters, and her views of those around her have changed considerably.

Story
When Elizabeth Bennet first knew Mr. Darcy, she despised him and was sure he felt the same. Angered by his pride and reserve, influenced by the lies of the charming Mr. Wickham, she never troubled herself to believe he was anything other than the worst of men - until, one day, he unexpectedly proposed. Mr. Darcy's passionate avowal of love causes Elizabeth to reevaluate everything she thought she knew about him.

The slowest of slow burns
Reviewed: 01-12-25
If you’re into a slow burn this is definitely for you. The resolution came a little to late for my tastes but in the end the story was still enjoyable. I found Elizabeth a bit OOC in the beginning but I guess that’s necessary for the premise. Overall the tone did still ring true to Jane Austen so I enjoyed it as a P&P variation.
