i will try to be as polite as i can because i have read other things by sandra newman. and she is a very talented writer. I had very high hopes for this book, and it probably could be something amazing...however, the writing style she used, i.e. making everyone speak a very bad form of broken illeriterate english, really just hurt my ears. Try to imagine Jar Jar Binx talking for 26 hours straight..with yoda stepping in with racist dialogue every now and then... im not kidding....its like she took his character and had him write her story.
Im very very disappointed. Yes, i understand why she wrote it this way, but good english (Joke) is good for a reason. She could have done so many things different, but the horrible broken english non stop the entire book just destroyed the whole experience for me.
i gave it 2 stars because i love the theme, and the imagination, but trust me. 2 stars is VERY VERY generous.
