Story
Are you ready for real and radical transformation? God Is Enough! This message comes through loud and clear in the lives of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. While they failed time and again, God was faithful to convict, restore and bless them. And He is able to deal with our slipping and stumbling as well. Watchman Nee uses the lives of the patriarchs to show that God is able to turn our failure into success and our weakness into strength.

Spiritual maturity through the lives of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob
Reviewed: 03-05-22
What an insightful book by Watchman Née. I had never looked at the lives of the patriarchs in this way. I will listen to this over and over as I learned so much about what the journey of spiritual maturity looks like in the lives of the patriarchs. Read it!! You won’t look at your weaknesses and trials the same!

Story
Some people have learned how to live. They can handle all that life brings. They are composed. They radiate strength. They are whole, with lives worth emulating, and when they speak people listen. They are, in a word, wise. How did these people get wisdom? And perhaps more importantly, how can we? In his long-awaited first audiobook, Daniel Grothe of New Life Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado, shows us how to get wisdom for ourselves by examining what the Bible has to say about it and by providing practical steps for acquiring it.

I feel so profoundly inspired by this book! I listened to the whole thing in one day and I was sad when I finished it. This is the quest I’ve been on for years and I enjoyed hearing another old soul’s perspective on chasing wisdom. Although the author seems to have a slightly different view in some areas of doctrine (sacraments, saints...), otherwise I thoroughly enjoyed his exhortation to pursue sages in our own lives. There is so much good meat here, just eat the meat and spit out the bones. With that said, I can heartily recommend this book.

Story
Hard times come for all in life, with no real explanation. When we walk through suffering, it has the potential to devastate and destroy, or to be the gateway to gratitude and joy. Elisabeth Elliot was no stranger to suffering. Her first husband, Jim, was murdered by the Waoroni people in Ecuador moments after he arrived in hopes of sharing the gospel. Her second husband was lost to cancer. Yet, it was in her deepest suffering that she learned the deepest lessons about God.

Sally Clarkson has a way of inspiring you to be intentional and to make every moment count! This book encouraged me to keep living a rich yet simple life by enjoying beauty, faith, friends and family. Sharing the gospel through lighting the darkness, this is what a floundering lost world finds appealing.

Story
Gods at War illustrates a clear path away from the heartache of our 21st century idolatry back to the heart of God - enabling us to be completely committed followers of Jesus. What do Netflix, our desire for the corner office, and that perfect picture we just posted on Instagram have to do with each other? None of these things is wrong in itself. But when we begin to allow entertainment, success, or social media to control us, we miss out on the joy of God's rule in our hearts.
