Story
After Bourne is ambushed and nearly killed while in Indonesia, he fakes his death to take on a new identity and mission - to find out who is trying to assassinate him. In the process, Bourne begins to question who he really is and what he would become if he no longer carried the Bourne identity. Across the globe, an American passenger airliner is shot down over Egypt - apparently by an Iranian missile - leaving the world wondering if it was an accident or an act of aggression.

Disappointing

Van Lustbader just isn’t the story teller that Ludlum was. I wanted to get to the end of the book to see what happened. I could have saved some time by listening to the first 30 min and then the last 20 min and got the full story. Ludlum made you want to hear the full story. Not the case with Van Lustbader.

Story
A masterful biography of the U.S. Army in the European Theater of Operations, Citizen Soldiers provides a compelling account of the extraordinary stories of ordinary men in their fight for democracy. The story opens on June 7, 1944 on the beaches of Normandy and ends at the end of the war on May 7, 1945. Along the way, Ambrose draws on hundreds of interviews and oral histories to recreate the experience of the individuals who fought in the battle.

The book was ok. Not like other ambrose books I have read. It seamed to be choppy and bounced around like Flags of our Fathers. Not bad but not his best.
