Story
Fashion is a fickle industry, a frightening fact for 24-year-old model Ivy Clark. Ten years in and she’s learned a sacred truth - appearance is everything. Nobody cares about her broken past as long as she looks beautiful for the camera. This is the only life Ivy knows - so when it starts to unravel, she’ll do anything to hold on. Even if that means moving to the quaint island town of Greenbrier, South Carolina, to be the new face of her stepmother’s bridal wear line - an irony too rich for words, since Ivy is far from the pure bride in white.

Wonderful Redemption Story!
Reviewed: 08-19-19
I adored Katie Ganshert's other two books "Wishing on Willows" and "Wildflowers from Winter", so I was elated to read her newest book "A Broken Kind of Beautiful". I was slightly worried that I wouldn't enjoy it as much because it was about a model/modeling world. I am not a girly girl and I rarely wear makeup, but this book still resonated with me on a deep level. This is now my favorite of all three of her books! Katie has a way of developing characters and storytelling that makes it all come to life. It's so well written that by the end of the story you are disappointed it's over, because you feel like you personally know them. This is also a book of healing, hope, grace and mercy. God is close to those who are broken and He longs to redeem them. This is a wonderful book that has many applicable life lessons. You will not be disappointed.

Story
Tess Eckhart isn't crazy. She's not suffering from psychosis. She and Luka Williams are part of The Gifting. Before they can find out what that means, the man with all the answers turns up dead. The only thing he left behind? A few patient files that lead to the nation's most lawless city.

Good Medicine

So I'm a 30 something mom who somehow after years of being healthy, winds up with some sort of stomach flu. I thought I was dying. I had to have someone else take care of my kids. I couldn't read a book. Every other post on Facebook seemed to show food. I was too sick to watch Gilmore Girls on Netflix (just consider for a moment how sick one must be to not watch Lorelai, Rory & Luke!) I couldn't sleep either. I was miserable with nothing to do. Then my little dying self perked up a bit when I remembered I just downloaded an audiobook the day before. I had read The Gifting several months previously and was eager to hear how the things played out in The Awakening.
