It was the perfect job for newly engaged Private Investigator Mallory Dimante and she thought so…right up until the moment the black bag was slipped over her head. The instructions for the job had been simple. Attend a will-reading. Observe the heirs. Report back their reactions. It had to be a female investigator, to blend in, the letter had said. And the expenses were all prepaid.

I read the reviews, I listened to the preview, AND I STILL WASTED A CREDIT!
The reading was really bad. I don’t think the reader had ever done this before.
The plot is plausible, even interesting but it wasn’t translated into a good story. Being read poorly didn’t help. I need a shower after listening to 4 chapters. I wish this was a real book so I could throw it away, YUCK!

Story
Daniel Martin has never forgotten his childhood encounters with Frank Watkins, the man who built his family a summer home out of cardboard and plywood. Frank's gaze was oddly confusing, as if he was attempting to discern the proper way to behave because he didn't know how to respond in a human manner. Since Frank obviously wasn't an alien, young Daniel thought maybe the man was crazy. In the end, Daniel would learn the terrifying truth about Frank Watkins. And as an adult, Daniel is about to discover there are more of them out there.

Much of Richard Matheson's work has found its way into pop culture: The title story became a memorable episode of television's The Twilight Zone, and more recently, Will Smith starred in the blockbuster movie I Am Legend. Stephen King has declared Matheson to be one of his favorite writers. Find out why as you listen to the classic horror story of a man who peers out of his airplane window to see a gremlin destroying the wing.
