Story
The King of Con is the true story about a smart, streetwise Jersey boy who talked his way to the top and became richer and more successful than his wildest dreams. It offers an unforgettable look into the life of a man who became hooked on living life to thrilling and dangerous excess, rubbing elbows with celebrities and crime bosses, until he was humbled by the FBI, by the US Attorney, and by life itself. Now, Tom Giacomaro is back in his old neighborhood. His mob cronies are calling, his palms are itching to make billions again, and the US Attorney's office is watching.

I read many books about this subject, this addict is very privileged and it was a turn off for me. Couldn’t get myself to finish this one.

Story
When the Nazis invaded Hungary in 1944, they sent virtually the entire Jewish population to Auschwitz. A Jew and a medical doctor, the prisoner Dr. Miklos Nyiszli was spared death for a grimmer fate: to perform "scientific research" on his fellow inmates under the supervision of the man who became known as the infamous "Angel of Death" - Dr. Josef Mengele. Nyiszli was named Mengele's personal research pathologist. In that capacity he also served as physician to the Sonderkommando, the Jewish prisoners who worked exclusively in the crematoriums and were routinely executed after four months.

One of the most terrifying books

I usually go for true stories and have read several books on WW2 and concentration camps but this one is the most intense so far.

I enjoyed the story and really felt sorry for him. He is half French, half German but marches with Germans. In Russia he sees himself as a liberator- even calling partisans terrorists, claiming how Wehrmacht constantly helped civilians etc… Then he returns back to Germany, gets a free pass by French and parades with them in Paris… What a confused young man.
