Story
Eight years ago I fell into a secret summer fling with my best friend’s little sister before our lives went in different directions. Now, I’m the grumpy to Juliet’s sunshine on a popular dating podcast we host, and when a wealthy fan gives us a charming coastal cottage as the biggest thank you ever, we head to the town where I grew up to give it a makeover. And find the house has only one bed. Located under a mirrored ceiling.

Lots of sex
Reviewed: 05-27-24
Would’ve rated this book higher had it been not for the graphic and a bit off putting, sexual description.
I find it hard to believe that the main male character, being a “love doctor” wouldn’t be more self-aware earlier.

Story
A change in the circumstances of the entail leaves Elizabeth Bennet as the mistress of Longbourn, beholden to no one. Despite the tragedy that took her parents and all but one of her sisters from her, Elizabeth eventually heals, and she takes up the affairs of the estate with a flair her father never possessed. But estate ownership has its own trials, for it makes Elizabeth the target of those who might have otherwise viewed her as nothing more than a pretty vivacious girl.

Story
Hazel Stillman is a woman of rare independence and limited opportunities. Born with a clubbed foot, she was sent away as a child, and, knowing her disability means a marriage is unlikely, she devoted herself to scholarship and education. Now working as a teacher in an elite private girls’ school, she is content with the way her story has unfolded. When her uncle Elliott Mayfield presents her with the prospect of a substantial inheritance if she marries, Hazel is offended.

I work with autistic children. And I believe some of my closest friends on spectrum although undiagnosed. I found at the characterization of an adult autistic rang true.
More than that, I just loved the characters and was very happy that were able to commence their experiment. I will likely listen to this one again.

Story
“Mr Darcy, I am eager to hear your explanation for the fact that quite a few people believe we are engaged.” It starts with a bit of well-meant advice. Colonel Fitzwilliam suggests to his cousin Darcy that, before he proposes to Elizabeth Bennet in Kent, perhaps he ought to discuss his plans with their families first. What neither man could have predicted however was that Lord Matlock would write the news to his sister, or that Viscount Saye would overhear and tell his friends, or that his friends might slip a little and let their friends know as well.

The voice actor is below par and very distracting. I’ve just started the book and can barely go on. I cannot comment on the story yet.

Story
What's Georgiana Darcy's story? Jane Austen tells us so little in Pride and Prejudice that we're left to wonder. How did the early loss of her parents shape Miss Darcy's character? And what about her near-disastrous affair with Mr. Wickham? Is that the true source of her shyness? She adores her brother and his new wife, Elizabeth, but will their guiding influence be enough to steer Georgiana clear of new trouble as she comes of age and falls in love again?

Repeat
Reviewed: 04-10-19
This book is duplicative of the Darcys at Pemberley. It is told from Georgiana’s perspective. I found myself waiting to get to the parts I knew I was coming up.
It was also repetitive in that it repeated over and over Georgianna’s emotional state in the first person.

One of my favorite Pride and Prejudice versions
Reviewed: 11-11-18
If you love Jane Austen, you’ll love this version. This version starts out with Mr. Darcy demonstrating his softer side and moves onto an interesting understanding of his reserves. This gives quite a value for the cost and many hours of joy for listening.

Rejected by a sister who has allowed her new status as wife to Mr. Bingley to make her proud, Elizabeth Bennet goes to her uncle's estate in Derbyshire, ostensibly to assist her cousin in her introduction to society. In reality, Elizabeth feels there is nothing left for her in the neighborhood of her birth. Her uncle's estate is small, and Elizabeth must work while there, and though she finds her tasks easy to bear. This is one of the many pride and prejudice vagaries or versions you can find on audible. I find myself addicted to these books as pride and prejudice is not only a classic but one of my very favorite Jane Austen books.
This one lead you to understand the background of her family far better than any of the other versions I’ve read. I truly enjoyed this one it’s one of the better versions. It’s quite a link the book and it gives good value for a credit.
