Story
Logen Ninefingers, infamous barbarian, has finally run out of luck. Caught in one feud too many, he's on the verge of becoming a dead barbarian - leaving nothing behind him but bad songs, dead friends, and a lot of happy enemies. Nobleman, dashing officer, and paragon of selfishness, Captain Jezal dan Luthar has nothing more dangerous in mind than fleecing his friends at cards and dreaming of glory in the fencing circle. But war is brewing, and on the battlefields of the frozen North they fight by altogether bloodier rules.

Ok so this is my first book by Joe, I got it on sale. And it has not disappointed me. The opening may make your mind wonder at first, but hang in there!
I’m now moving on to the next book! Like a good author painting on his canvas he brings in bits here and add bits there, and before you know it you’re hooked and can’t stop listing! If your reading this review then your in doubt, well just thing a tale like Tolkien or Martin. I’m glad I took the chance🧐👍🏻!

Petra Grady has known since adolescence that she has no talent for magic—and that’s never going to change. But as a sweeper first-class, she’s parlayed her rare ability to handle dross—the damaging, magical waste generated by her more talented kin’s spellwork—into a decent life working at the mages’ university. Except Grady’s relatively predictable life is about to be upended.

Story
Katarina Ashowan was not made for courtly life. Sure, her father is the famous house witch of Daxaria so she was raised among majestic castles, proper manners, and royal expectations. But Kat is also a mutated witch whose power aligns predominantly with fire. She’s more comfortable riding horses or learning to fight than she is making polite conversation and wearing fancy dresses. Which is why her upcoming assignment—serving her best friend, Alina, the soon-to-be crowned Troivackian queen—is anything but ideal.

If you find a Great Author you stick with HIM!
While desperately waiting for Dresden, I tried the Cinder Spires book one. And I liked it well enough so when book 2 came out I’m like ok still no Dresden let’s do book 2. And I’m glad I did. Captain Grim is a keeper! A honorable gentleman with a taste for tea what’s not to like? And Rowl prince of the silent paws, such snark! With great characters and I can see how this is going to turn out to be a great series I’m looking forward to see if my theories about some things in the book are going to play out in the next book. But in the end Mr. BUTCHER I’m still waiting to see if Dresden is going to get married! lol
