I dislike when characters constantly repeat their life experiences to each character they meet. a truly lazy way of getting two characters to agree on anything. The book was filled with this. DNF.

The ending took a little longer to reach than I would have liked but the fact the characters behaved rationally the whole way through mage up for it. Great performance

Pretty good overall but the cast didn't quite suit the story I thought. I know it was probably intentional but the story took a long time to get to the end. I didn't like that as much.

This had such a classical whimsical style like the The Turf-Cutter's Donkey yet the subject matter was very much more adult. Great story of personsonal growth that wasn't a coming of age story. This is a story of someone who thought they already knew who they were realizing they didn't.

Good but not as good as the first novel

The first book explored identity and culture in a fresh way. The second retreads old ground. Fans of forever war or Enders game will recognise these themes and this novel brings nothing new to them. But the return of all our favourite characters was very enjoyable.

Performance was excellent.

I enjoyed this and it isn't a waste of money to purchase but it didn't live up to the hype of a nebula award winning series in my opinion. Fairly basic concepts of personhood.

Good story overall but the main character was so helpless through the whole story, no coming up with strategies just going with the flow. Very frustrating.
