Love Louise Penny’s books. Hadn’t realized how Ralph Cosham, the first narrator, made me love them. I wanted to BE in Three Pines with Gamache and his people. Sadly, now with the second narrator, everyone is lost. To be fair, I think I’ll try reading the book to see if I can tolerate it.

I really wanted to enjoy these books. After a few minutes of listening, I couldn’t do it anymore. The cadence of the narrator sounds like a British newscaster. I’ve always found it so artificial. I’m gonna try to return it.

The narrative/performance review from others was so poor that I almost didn’t get the book. The sample provided wasn’t enough for me to agree or disagree with them. So, I decided to buy it and I found the listening to be very enjoyable! It perfectly matches the main character’s personality. The other characters are well distinguished from, by the cadence and pitch of the narrator, Heather Wilds. Give it a try. If you don’t like it, Audible let’s you exchange it for free.
