Not sure what all the hate is about
Reviewed: 08-21-20
After reading the comments I was not sure about getting this book. But, I love the series and I figured I might as well try it out, and thankfully I did. I've seen people say the beginning is nearly impossible to get through but it's just a set up from the cliffhanger in the last book. the rest of the book is the normal hyjinx that the merry band of pirates get up to. I will admit that the past few books have been rather harsh on Skippy but I'm all fairness there are certain things that make the crew not trust the beer can. But, Joe and Skippy have their normal banter that helps keep you going. The author does kinda just go on little tangents about some unnecessary things of events throughout the book but that had been pretty consistent throughout the series and just plays off of Joe/Skippy being scatterbrained, remember the books are being told from their perspective more often than not.
Overall I'm happy and can't wait to see what happens next in the series!

Story
Ever since discovering that his mother is still alive, and being held captive by Lord Zelroth, Lusam has been tormented by terrifying nightmares. He soon finds that it's not only his nightmares which threaten to thwart his plans of a rescue, but also the King himself. New alliances are made and old ones are tested to their limits as Lusam's single-mindedness to rescue his mother causes him to take risks that he would never normally consider.
