Story
Meet Ove. He's a curmudgeon - the kind of man who points at people he dislikes as if they were burglars caught outside his bedroom window. He has staunch principles, strict routines, and a short fuse. People call him "the bitter neighbor from hell". But behind the cranky exterior there is a story and a sadness.

I like everything about this book. The characterizations were rich, the story entertaining and heartwarming. I felt as if I could see Ove's surroundings and knew the people. It was a joy.

Good mystery with detailed character development. Disappointing wrap up.
Spoiler alert - couldn't believe after bringing us along and involving us with the main character, she was killed! It wasn't about Simon! So why call it a Simon mystery. It was about Frayer (sp?).

nice story-writing style and performance lacking
Reviewed: 03-09-12
The performance was better suited to a mystery or thriller. It got tiring after the first few chapters. The writing style was more like a long magazine article and really bogged down as the book progressed. Occasionally terms would be used that were glaring exceptions to dialog. e.g. women were warned not to goof-off? so out of place....
