Dell takes readers on another trip into the world of rodeo but this time it’s Wyatt Darrington’s turn to be the main attraction. Dell does a great job forming each character’s personality without sacrificing a good story line. Her ability to weave the lives of the characters together from book to book keeps me burning through each book as fast as I can so I can get to know the next characters. This books takes place mostly in Pendleton Oregon which is a nice change from Texas and allows the reader a deeper look into the world of rodeo beyond the state of Texas. Pendleton is famous for the Pendleton Round-up, one of the biggest rodeos in the world. And once again Dell brings forward a strong female character who is able to hold her own and kick butt when needed. Perhaps what I like the most about Dell’s books is how the men and women come together as equal partners instead of the woman fainting and being caught by the man all the time! But the men are still strong and virile and tough enough not to be intimidated by a strong woman. Instead they value the women for their independence and strength.

What a great and unique story about a cowboy with autism and the cowgirl who matches him perfectly although no one probably saw it coming. Cole Jacobs is cautious and always has a list. Who knew that would make him the perfect match for Shawnee who is wild but craves structure in her life. The book has great humor and as always Dell weaves the rodeo life into the story in the most authentic portrayal of cowboys and cowgirls you’ll find in the romance novel industry. Can’t wait for the next one. This is the third in the series.

This book was exciting from start to finish. Characters were rich and well thought out. An authentic peek into the world of rodeo by an author who knows her subject. It’s the second in the series. The first, Reckless in Texas, sets the scene for Jacobs Livestock, the family run rodeo company that supplies the bucking horses and bulls at professional rodeos. The stories have strong female characters that don’t wait around to be saved by a man but stand as equals in strength and character. The cowboys are all you would imagine. Cowboys aren’t perfect but who would want them to be? I can’t wait to read the next in the series. The narrator was tough to listen to in the first chapter of the first book, Reckless. As the book went on she improved. She seems to have worked out all the kinks in Tangled and does great voices for each character. So glad I kept listening and gave the narrator a chance to hit her stride or I would have missed out on an excellent series that’s become my new favorite.
