Story
Uncle Tom's Cabin opens with a Kentucky farmer named Arthur Shelby facing the loss of his farm because of debts. Even though he and his wife, Emily Shelby, believe that they have a benevolent relationship with their slaves, Shelby decides to raise the needed funds by selling two of them - Uncle Tom, a middle-aged man with a wife and children, and Harry, the son of Emily Shelby's maid Eliza - to a slave trader.

So Humbling, so heartbreaking

My heart breaks for those who have suffered through the cruel and barbaric injustice of slavery. I feel much respect for the author who so eloquently proclaimed her disagreement of the atrocities committed. I stand with her in condemning our country for this terrible mark on our land. For the blood of the righteous have and will continue to call down the wrath of God. “And wo be unto the oppressor.” —This goes for those who are now guilty of the rampant human trafficking issues that plague the world today (among the many other evils of our time).

I loved this! So well put together and read. So much more than a book for children. I will listen to this again as it so expertly guides you through the ages. My take away is that humans have come so far but sadly still have the capability to do so much evil and so much good. This is a must read for everyone. It is vital for us to understand each other and learn from our history so we can improve our future. God bless this author. Ignore the negative, short sided reviews.

Story
Francis Parkman's journal - written more than 150 years ago, in 1846 - provides an eye-witness account of one of the grandest adventures in American history. At age 23, the Harvard-educated Bostonian traveled the Rocky Mountains, living among the Dakota Sioux. In his journal, he captured the color, spirit, and perspective of his era, as well as the exuberant confidence that was the mark of his time. Frank Muller's dramatic reading brings this captivating record to life.

Quite the insightful book. Raw, brutal and beautiful in its truthful examination. I’m humbled by the tenacity of those who blazed the trails of the western frontier. I also found myself disgusted and sorrowful as well at the descriptions of how some chose to live. Very interesting, uplifting and depressing. This is life in a nutshell I suppose. Glad I listened. Narrator was perfection.

Story
It's just a small story really, about, among other things, a girl, some words, an accordionist, some fanatical Germans, a Jewish fist-fighter, and quite a lot of thievery. Set during World War II in Germany, Markus Zusak's groundbreaking new novel is the story of Liesel Meminger, a foster girl living outside of Munich. Liesel scratches out a meager existence for herself by stealing when she encounters something she can't resist: books.

When she arrives at the hall, shaken by an unsettling disturbance that occurred during her travels, she is greeted by the two children now in her care, Isabella and Eustace. There is no adult present to represent her mysterious employer, and the children offer no explanation. Later that night in her room, another terrifying experience further reinforces the sense that something is very wrong. From the moment Eliza rises the following morning, her every step seems dogged by a malign presence that lives within Gaudlin's walls.

Eric Weinstein is not a conservative, but he talks to conservatives because he says, more often, they’re the ones who let him speak his mind without branding him (a Jew) a Nazi. He tells Glenn why, after many requests over the last few years, he finally agreed to this podcast. In the aftermath of the U.S. Capitol riot and President Trump’s second impeachment, Eric and Glenn probe the historical, economic, social, and even scientific reasons for the events of the last week. Thank you Glen for allowing us the opportunity to see this man’s perspective. The late Stephen Covey once said, “seek first to understand then be understood”. This is exactly what you did by having Eric on your show and for allowing him “the time of day” to explain his side with out being argumentative and contentious. Thank you! Even though I don’t agree with everything he was saying, I was fascinated by many of the things he brought up and feel like they are worth considering. It’s a beautiful thing to be able to have and listen to this kind of a discussion.

Story
Black Americans have long been shackled to the Democrats. Seeing no viable alternative, they have watched liberal politicians take the Black vote for granted without pledging anything in return. In Blackout, Owens argues that this automatic allegiance is both illogical and unearned. She contends that the Democrat Party has a long history of racism and exposes the ideals that hinder the Black community’s ability to rise above poverty, live independent and successful lives, and be an active part of the American dream.
