Very fast paced story. The narration was fantastic. It is darker and grittier than the movie.

Story
One of Jane Austen’s most beloved works, Pride and Prejudice, is vividly brought to life by Academy Award nominee Rosamund Pike ( Gone Girl). In her bright and energetic performance of this British classic, she expertly captures Austen’s signature wit and tone. Her attention to detail, her literary background, and her performance in the 2005 feature film version of the novel provide the perfect foundation from which to convey the story of Elizabeth Bennet, her four sisters, and the inimitable Mr. Darcy.

It is, of course, one of the greatest books of all time. The narration is stellar. The Mr. Collins impression was like nails on a chalkboard though. Although it was fitting, his parts were difficult to listen to. It's just a minor complaint, and it does not take away from the wonderful audiobook as a whole.

I bought this on a whim and thoroughly enjoyed it. I thought the dialog was well written, but not always consistent with how young people actually talk. The interview format works extremely well in audiobook form.

After finishing the Dark Tower audiobooks again, I found this podcast. I love their in-depth conversations about the books, and their tangents are pretty good too.

Story
Since his wife died, Ralph Roberts has been having trouble sleeping. Each night he wakes up a bit earlier until he's barely sleeping at all. During his late-night walks, he observes some strange things going on in Derry, Maine. He sees colored ribbons streaming from people's heads, two strange little men wandering around town after dark, and more. He begins to suspect that these visions are something more than hallucinations brought on by lack of sleep.

Good story, good narrator, horrible production.

The musical interludes are jarring, loud and unnecessary. It was a struggle to finish the book. I will be returning this one as I know I cannot listen to it again. It's a shame, because I feel Eli Wallach did a wonderful job as narrator, and the story is engaging.
