Story
When creatures of the night proved to be real, the best of America's military came together to form an elite band of rapid response teams. Their mission: to face the challenge and keep the civilian populace safe from any who would do harm and hide all evidence of their existence. Now, the teams face a threat so overwhelming that they are left with no choice but to turn to the very monsters they've hunted in the past to assist them in protecting humanity.

I'm So Fed Up!! 3Books, one main Plot, No ending!!
Reviewed: 09-21-15
What did you like best about Coalition of the Damned? What did you like least?
I can't express how dissapointed I am in words, Im considering requesting a refund for these three books! **•SPOILER ALERT•** "This Story has No ending!!" After 3 books, all riding on the same plot line, the same main BadGuy, threatening to take over the planet & enslave man. He seems to be prepared, has his armies, doesn't seem there's anything holding him back but yet for some reason he has Allowed 3 books to pass by filled with the good guys figuring out the whole thing, preparing, getting a whole new base of operations, locating & contacting other supernatural a to ally with and aid in the fight.. I mean could our bad guy be the worst procrastinator on the planet or what?! I'm surprised he didn't send his forces over on Moving Day and help load the trucks.. "Yea The boss sent us over to help you guys get settled in.. He says He would like to get this war on with before some of the characters strat dying of old age..?!" Seriously , there's little as far as side plots, or branches of the story that could be finished off to give that feeling of closure.. It's just a whole lot of Filler waiting for the main event.. 3books @ Approx $14.00 a piece discounted.! That's $42.00 for story with no ending!!? I wouldn't pay $42.00 for a Great Story from the likes of George RR Martin, Tolkien, Etc!!Let me Promise you that This Is One story, torn into three pieces for profit sake!! Nothing more nothing less & I for one will be requesting A Refund for all three books & trying to spread the word to stop others from wasting their hard earned money or Credits On this type of Stuff, wether it is the author, the editor, the agent, I don't know but ultimately the Author is responsible for His Work, his name is on it, I do t appreciate being played for a fool or ripped off and that's exactly what I feel is happening TOO much in the world of audio books & Im Sick of it!! Let's take this story, probably worth $25.00 tops.. (And tear it into 3/4 parts then sell it for $14.00 each..?! That will ultimately double the cost to the customer?!! They pay twice what it's worth and can't even enjoy it because it's all chopped up.. Please readers, when you see this blatantly happening Demand a refund & Post warnings for others!! Only We the readers can stop this by hitting the industry in the pocket!! Authors, take control of YOUR art, YOUR work because it's You whose names we will connect with this, it's you who's future books will be ignored.. Tolkien, George RR Martn, Bradbury, King, these names will be remembered for ever For their writings, what will Your Name be remembered For?!! If it's even remembered..?! You write because you Love It.. Will Greed & Money do to Literature what Greed & Money has done to Hollywoods BigScreen?! Only If We Allow it to!
Any additional comments?
Dont Waste your time, credits or cash!! If alresdy have?! Request refunds for all Three books!! The author should credit us the next book for Free to make things right!! Maybe then I'd listen to it!?

As I mentioned after the first book, I fee a potential here but I seem to be being led around in circles instead of getting to the point.. The reading again wadnt Bad but wasn't too notch!! (Seriously Believe That a Great reader Make a WORLD of difference & can actually Save a SubPar story!!) anyway it feels like to me anyway that here I am at the end of book two & Im still Waiting for the "Big Something" to happen... I will have to try book 3 at this point I'm already invested and at least want to find out what happens... Who knows maybe the ending will make it all worth it.?!

Would you try another book from Heath Stallcup and/or Jack Voorhies?
Yea I believe these books could have been better , it's hard to place a finger on it exactly.. Might have been the reader as I didn't exactly dislike his reading style but maybe it was his attempts at doing voices that bugged me?!? I can't exactly say but for the most part the story is interesting enough to keep you reading & waiting for the "big something" to happen.

Great novel broken into Multiple books for Bigger profits?? You be judge!
Reviewed: 07-18-15
I really liked the story but in the end it seems blatantly dragged out in order to sell multiple books, this sadly seems to be happening more and more these days and frankly it is not only annoying but seriously Hurts the overall story because waiting for the next book usually leaves me trying to catch up with where the story left off and remembering characters names and situations and such isn't always easy. It's sad because if this was a single book I know I would have LOVED it but broken up like this for bigger profits in my opinion destroys the flow of the story especially one with so many important characters and plots.. That's just my take on what I fee is obvious ploy to squeeze more profits out of every story.. And it's negative effect on the Worlds the writing is trying to transport us to! You be the judge!

Kinda hope this isn't the end but it seems like it may be!! But smartly the authors have left the ability to pick things up and go in different direction!! Outside my normal choice of books these have been surprisingly enjoyable even tho I'm not a fan of Love story dramas!! This seemed to find the right mix of action & suspense to keep me coming back for more!! Bravo!!

Trying not to spoil anything I'll just say this is another great installment from the world David Achord has brought us, what I loved the most is the realism the book brings to a world flipped on its ear, where man is eating man, mankind has slipped backwards pertaining to morales and humanity's DISGUISTING traits have bubbled to the surface!! If your disturbed by this story I ask you to sit back and ask yourself what you expect from people should life as we know it take a road such as this story portrays...? Think of the horrors mankind suffers upon on another in today's world then imagine the horrors man would be capable of with No Repercussions, no law, no Justice... If you want to read apocalyptic stories then don't expect Happy Endings because I doubt those would exist once society crumbles as they barely exist Now!! Buy The Ticket.. Take The Ride!!!

I actually found myself a bit misty eyed at a certain part of this story, near abouts the end somewhere in the final few chapters.. I refuse to let out any spoilers but the situation produced a lot of emotion in me which supports the fact that I'm very wrapped up in the characters and their journeys.!! My compliments to Jim Butcher on yet another great work!! As with the Dresden files I've added these to my all time favorites!!

Story
The Skull Throne of Krasia stands empty. Built from the skulls of fallen generals and demon princes, it is a seat of honor and ancient, powerful magic, keeping the demon corelings at bay. From atop the throne, Ahmann Jardir was meant to conquer the known world, forging its isolated peoples into a unified army to rise up and end the demon war once and for all. But Arlen Bales, the Warded Man, stood against this course, challenging Jardir to a duel he could not in honor refuse.

A lot of side stories.
Reviewed: 04-14-15
Not much to do with the Warded Man or the Demon of the Desert but a full story of many of the side characters of the previous novels. I liked it because it really built up these characters and now gives you the story from the eyes of multiple eyes and perceptions. It's my belief that this will only make the next installment That much better because you'll feel invested from so many points of view. Like any true story there are many story plots, many schemes and many people all with their own agendas making up the Whole, some you'll like some you'll hate, some you'll root for and some you'll dam but ultimately whatever the story has in store for us is Enevera!

"I've been told that the entire continent of Antarctica groaned at the moment of my birth. The howl tore across glaciers, over mountains and deep into the ice. Everyone says so. Except for my father; all he heard was Mother's sobs. Not of pain, but of joy, so he says. Other than that, the only verifiable fact about the day I was born is that an iceberg the size of Los Angeles broke free from the ice shelf a few miles off the coast."
