Немодно было рожать детей, и их отправляли в сиротские приюты, где позволяли спокойно умереть. Жан-Жак Руссо всех своих законных детей отправлял в приют, но при этом написал роман Эмиль, который поднимает важные проблемы свободного, гармоничного воспитания человека в эпоху века Разума. Тень эпохи следует по пятам за веком Просвещения. И об этой теневой стороне не принято говорить открыто.
