昔ある国に珍しい大洪水が起こり、人が何十万人も死んでしまいました。ほとほと水が恐ろしくなってしまった王様は十人の大臣達を集めて、「国中の水をすっかり流してしまえる者が、王位を譲ってもいい」と、名案を募るのですが……

むかし、ある国に舌の長いお姫様と、舌の短いお姫様がいました。舌の長い姉姫は、舌が長いせいでとってもおしゃべり、舌の短い妹姫は、珍しいくらいの無口でした。どちらも極端だったので、なかなかお嫁にしたいという男性も現れず、両親は気に病んでどうにかお婿さんになる男性を探そうとするのですが……
