 長年の長いが叶うとき――
太宰治が描く爽やかな物語

四年前、三島で『ロマネスク』という小説を書いていた「私」は、
ある夜酔っ払った状態で自転車に乗り怪我をしてしまう。
慌てて医者を訪ねるが、その医者も酔っていたため二人は思わず大笑いした。

その夜をきっかけに医者と仲良くなった「私」は、彼のもとをたびたび訪れるようになる。
するとある時、一人の女性が薬を貰いに現れた。
医者は彼女に「もう少しの辛抱だ」と大声で叱っていることもあったのだが、
「私」はその理由を医者の妻から聞かされる事となる。

太宰治（だざい・おさむ）
津軽の大地主の六男として生まれる。
共産主義運動から脱落して遺書のつもりで書いた第一創作集のタイトルは「晩年」（昭和11年）
という。この時、太宰は27歳だった。
その後太平洋戦争に向う時期から戦争末期までの困難な間も妥協を許さない
創作活動を続けた数少ない作家の一人である。
戦後「斜陽」（昭和22年）は大きな反響を呼び、若い読者をひきつけた。
