 『犬と笛』は、芥川龍之介が1919年(大正8年)に発表した短編小説です。昔、大和の国の葛城山の麓に、大そう笛が上手な髪長彦という若い木樵が住んでいました。ある日のこと、いつもの通り、とある大木の根がたに腰をおろしながら笛を吹いていると、その笛の音に誘われて葛城山の神たちがやって来ます。髪長彦は三人の神から、それぞれ一匹ずつ犬を貰い受けることになります。三匹の犬の名は“嗅げ”“飛べ”“噛め”といいます。髪長彦はこの三匹の犬を連れて、囚われの身となり行方の知れなくなったお姫様を探す旅にでます。(C)青空文庫(C)青空文庫 Asian Genre Fiction Literary Fiction World Literature
