この企画が生まれたきっかけは、小島豊美氏と アヴァンデザイン活字楽団による「昭和のテレビ童謡クロニクル」という書籍の出版でした。この書籍は「およげ!たいやきくん」という歌を生み出した幼児向けテレビ番組「ひらけ!ポンキッキ」や「ピッカピカ音楽館」に関わった小島豊美氏が、当時のスタッフや関係者への入念な取材や調査を積み上げて上梓したものです。この書籍が世に出たあと、当人の生の声で、きちんと語って残しておく必要があるのではないかということで実現したものです。
