Publisher's summary

Marcus Aurelius was a Roman Emperor, the last of the Five Good Emperors, and one of the most important Stoic philosophers, along with the slave Epictetus. Marcus Aurelius wrote the Meditations while in a military campaign; it was a series of notes written for no one but himself in his quest for self-improvement. Stoicism is the attitude allowing one to free oneself from the unnecessary suffering that arises from anxiety about events that are beyond our control; therefore, it can be of tremendous importance in one's life.

We have selected for you 100 of Marcus Aurelius' most inspiring quotes, for you to benefit from the teachings of Stoicism, alleviate your life by knowing the proper attitudes, and inspire you on the road of your own self-improvement.

These quotes are as good as the "by Buddha"

It's funny to put wisdom into words it has to be a little bit of prose in a lot of poetry it has to be understood and enjoyed and this audio does them all my highest recommendations.

Inspirational quotes

It is what it is - a short collection of inspirational quotes from a classic in Stoic philosophy that itself consists of brief sayings. A few repeat or paraphrase in this collection. Good for daily reflections during commutes, breaks, etc.. The performance is clear, subdued, and well-spaced out, allowing the listener to reflect on each brief passage. There is a very low-key, nonintrusive musical accompaniment. Unfortunately, there are also some distracting remarks in French at the start and end.
