Then, 9/11. Eric spent the first few days post 9/11 at ground zero supporting rescue efforts and was inspired to leave academics and pursue a career in public service. He served as a police officer and a full-time SWAT operator in Washington DC but never gave up on his childhood dream of owning a gym. In 2011, he opened Blue Titan, a CrossFit and Krav Maga facility in New Jersey that now employs 21 people and serves over 300 members. In 2019, after helping raise over $1 million for Arnold Schwarzenegger’s charity After-School All-Stars, Eric was asked to join the board of the NJ chapter.Eric is a 2nd Degree Black Belt in Krav Maga and one of only a handful of Level 3 CrossFit instructors in the state of New Jersey. Alongside a team of disabled veterans, Eric travels the country teaching both veterans and police officers about the important and potentially life saving benefits of community based fitness for recovering from post-traumatic stress and physical trauma.Eric lives in New Jersey with his wife Amanda, son Logan and two labradors.
